I came across NordVPN-Connector for DreamOS and OE2.0 which seems to be a nice solution. Has anyone tried it out and can give an opinion on it?
I understand that it requires a NordVPN account which I luckily have since a couple of months back when they had a sale 70% of the price for 3 years.
Here's the link to the plugin:

Sorry I really don't understand what you mean. DNS server from NordVPN? I do have knowledge of DNS on a layman's level. It is not a plugin it is just full in a dns server from your vpn provider for bypassing geocontrol....!
So I don't need the NordVPN plugin installed just the two DNS addresses from NordVPN? And where do I enter these DNS numbers?
Once again sorry for being such a noob and thanks for taking your time. So could you just elaborate a bit more on how this should be done?

Please note that a "Smart DNS" is something completely different from a VPN.
What is does is on every DNS request respond with the IP adres of a old-fashioned proxy, which will proxy your connection to they requested address. Which means for the destination, the client IP is no longer your public IP, but the IP of the proxy, which will be in a country of your choice.
Also note that it is not very complex to detect the presence of a proxy, and in case the client is a reasonably smart http client, also what the real public IP is. So it might not work for all services.
And finally, in terms of security both have the same potential issues. The chosen service provider will see EVERYTHING you are doing, and might use that for all sorts of purposes. And that includes https offloading and capturing.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)
Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Maybe dmm has a client for nordvpn but without having sources means we have to reinvent that wheel.

With NordVPN you cannot open up any incoming port, so it is only for outgoing trafic.
